“Aromas of blackcurrants and blackberries with hints of baking spices, cedar wood, walnuts and wet rocks. Full-bodied, creamy and chocolatey with notes of vanilla and blue flowers, framed by ripe, firm tannins. Juicy and delicious fruit. Long finish with hints of nuttiness. Try after 2024.” - James Suckling, February 2022

“Another single vineyard release from Howell Mountain, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Pauli Vineyard sports a ruby/purple color to go with exotic aromatics and red and blue fruits, iron, chalky mineral, and leafy herbs. These carry to a medium to full-bodied, nicely balanced, structured Cabernet Sauvignon with nicely integrated acidity and a great finish. It's an impeccably made Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the coming 20 years.” - Jeb Dunnuck, May 4, 2022

Vineyard

Pauli Vineyard is located on Howell Mountain. The 15-acre vineyard has volcanic-based soils that are restrictive and thus foster grapes of great intensity and structure. Pauli Vineyard first appeared in the Private Reserve blend at the 2009 vintage. Pauli Cabernet shows a luscious fruit core from the outset, accentuated by ripe tannins.
